Fun in the Tub

Every night when it's time for Ethan to take a bath, Jace and I will get his attention and ask, "Ethan, do you want to take a bath?" Then Ethan's eyes light up as he flashes the biggest smile known to man, and he starts saying "ba" "ba" as he runs toward the bathroom door. He continues to say it as I open the door and let him in. I start the water and his "ba's" get even louder. He's basically screaming out of excitement as he watches the tub fill up with water. He loves to stick his hand under the faucet as the tub is filling up and nearly falls in head first trying to reach the stream of water. It takes a while to get him to hold still long enough to get his clothes off because of his sheer excitement. He tries and tries to climb into the tub on his own but just can't quite do it yet. Finally Mommy lifts him up and over, and sets him into the warm water. Victory.

I swear he closed his eyes on purpose. Goofball.

FINALLY!!!

Thanks to my dad who found a wireless internet adapter and gave Jace and I a wad of money to get it, we FINALLY have our internet back!! (Thanks Dad!) Let me tell you it's been really hard to live without the internet. A lot has happened since the last time we posted and I really don't feel like writing a lot - so I'm just going to post the millions of pictures that we've taken over the last little while. Oh, and Ethan turned one a couple weeks ago. :) Enjoy the pics....

This picture sums up just about every single day of my life - Ethan pulling at my leg until I pick him up.

Note to self: don't leave Ethan and an open bag of puffed wheat in the same room together. Well now I know.

The following pics are of our Halloween photo shoot

We have this random little cupboard in between our kitchen and family room and Ethan always tries to get into it. Every time I go over to get him out of it he'll act like he wasn't doing anything and give me this innocent look.

He pulls out all our DVD's...multiple times a day. Mom cleans them up...multiple times a day.

Ethan's birthday present from my mom. He couldn't wait to open it.

The avacado landed perfectly underneath his nose. :)

Ethan loves wearing my scarf. When I come home from school he's more excited to see the scarf than he is to see me!

My mom got Ethan this truck for his birthday and he loves putting anything and everything in the back of it. I thought it was cute that he put Daddy's shoes in it.

My Backwards Baby

Well, our wireless internet is broken and has been for a few weeks now. It is EXTREMELY frustrating. Especially when I'm taking an online class. Anyway, I rarely have time to make it to campus to do homework, let alone blog, so I figured I'd give a super quick update. On account of I should be doing my homework:

ETHAN IS WALKING!! It is soooooo much fun! He's been walking for about a month now. He caught on so quick. He took his first official steps, taught himself to stand up, and started walking everywhere all within a week. It was crazy! He is so smart. :) The average age that babies start walking is 13 months, so he is definitely above average. Haha! It really surprised me. I didn't think he'd start walking until at least 12 months, especially since he's only been crawling for 2. Crazy.

I decided Ethan is a backwards baby. He would rather stand in the shopping cart than sit in it like normal babies. If we are lucky enough to even get him to sit in the cart, he has to sit sideways. He would rather walk in the street, than on the sidewalk. He would rather sleep in a bed than a crib. He would rather wake up 3 to 4 times during the night than just get some sleep. (yes that's right. I haven't slept through the night in 11 months.) He would rather play with light sockets, light switches, cords, and all things electrical, than all of his fabulous toys that are taking over our living room. (he does love his cars and balls though) there's many more things that make Ethan a backwards baby but that's all my sleep deprived mind can come up with at the moment. We have a lot of cute pictures to post but who knows when we will have internet. So I'm giving everyone something to look forward too....

Bright Lights

I mentioned in an earlier post that Ethan gets smarter and smarter everyday. Well recently he's figured out that when I pick up the camera to take a picture, there will be a bright light flashed in his face shortly thereafter. So he likes to prepare for it. Which means we get pictures like these...

He's so silly. :)

Jace has started teaching seminary!! He's been teaching for about a month in a half in a class all his own! It's taken a lot of effort and time to get to this point. It was NOT easy. I am so proud of him for all he's accomplished. He is an awesome teacher and his students love him. We still have a long road ahead of us though. We hope and pray that he'll be chosen to teach full time!! Here's a few pics of his classroom. He decorated it all on his own because I was out of town. I thought he did a great job. :)

The handsome teacher!

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things...

Getting into Mommy's wallet

Smiling for the camera!

Drinking from the drinking fountain! (He can really do it...so cute!)

:)

Turning lights on and off...on and off...on and off...

Playing darts with Daddy

Climbing onto the couch all by myself just so I can see
what Mommy and Daddy can see

Then climbing onto the end table to make a mess of everything. I throw a fit everytime I'm taken down.

Playing with Mommy's mirror

Banging on the laptop

I could play with it ALL day long.

Drinking juice from my big boy cup

And playing with my fire truck that Mommy and Daddy bought for $1.
(Yep that's right! $1. Best purchase ever. He scoots around the apartment with it and loves when we make car noises.)

10 Months Old

Ethan turned 10 months a couple days ago! I can't believe it. He has been sick the past 2 weeks and he hasn't been sleeping very well, day or night. It's made things really hard on me. I find it absolutely crazy the love I have for him even though I am completely and utterly exhausted. Even when he is cranky all day long and I struggle to find some way to entertain him, I find myself just looking at him and smiling, and feeling so incredibly blessed. He is such a sweetheart.

Ethan gets smarter and smarter every day. He likes to walk while holding someone's hand. He can say "hi" and "bye" as well as wave. He can say Ma Ma and Da Da and point us out in a picture. Ethan can also give kisses-which is my all time favorite. :) He knows lots of words like truck, ball, nose, Jesus, drink, outside, books, cheerios, cat, and dog. He can't say any of these yet but he points to them when we ask him to. It's so cute! He LOVES animals. Especially dogs and cats. He gets so excited when he sees them and just starts talking up a storm. He LOVES being outside and getting some fresh air. He would rather crawl on the cement instead of the grass - don't understand that one! Ethan has one tooth on the top, 3 teeth on the bottom, and his other front top tooth is just starting to peek through! I just love this little guy to death and I am so grateful to be his mommy.

The past month or so...

So there are seriously like a hundred pictures here! We have had family from both sides come visit us in Rexburg and now that school's out, it's our turn to visit everyone. It's been a lot of fun and here are just a few pictures (if you can believe that!) of all the fun we've been having! Enjoy!

Jace and I went on a double date with his sister Aubree and her husban Micah. We don't get to see them too much because they live so far away, so we really enjoyed spending time with them!

We thought this picture was funny because we each hit our balls once, and they ended up right next to each other almost perfectly spaced apart! We thought it was pretty crazy!

Uncle Jantz

Uncle Jarek

Grandma Allred

Uncle Danny

Aunt Abbey

Uncle David

Ethan LOVED playing on Danny's sleeping bag

Our 2 year anniversary was June 19th. I came home from school to a squeaky clean apartment and this!! :)

We went on a picnic that night and had a lot of fun. I can't believe I'm putting this picture up because I'm whiter than a ghost, but I thought Jace and Ethan looked so cute.

Ethan loves watching Finding Nemo

Jace's Grandparents have a lot of baby toys around the house, and Ethan got mighty attatched to this pink plastic fork. He never put the thing down it was so funny.

...pink fork...

Aunt Taralee and Cousin Garrett

Great Grandma and Grandpa Booth

Grandma Johnson
Whenever anyone opens the fridge Ethan hustles his little buns right on over there and starts to pull everything out.

Yay for updates!! Well we've been busy busy BUSY for the past few weeks and we just wanted to fill everyone in on what we've been up to! I'm still in school and I'm about a month away from fininshing up the semester...and I can't wait till it's over. Never again will I take 12 credits with a baby (who doesn't take a bottle!) - SO HARD. Jace helps out with Ethan so much so I can get my school work done and go to class. Graduating college is a goal of mine, so we're trying to get me through school the best we can!

A few weeks ago we decided to take a break from everything and go to Disneyland! We love that place and had so much fun! We met some of Jace's family there and had a blast hanging out with them. My mom and my sisters came up from AZ to babysit Ethan so Jace and I could just enjoy ourselves. It was awesome and we were so grateful for them! Jace and I haven't had alone time since Ethan was born, so we enjoyed it. :)
So here's some pictures of Disneyland and then of course, our darling baby boy:

Ethan's new trick is pulling himself up onto couches or chairs or anything else he can reach. Once he learned how, it's ALL he's been doing!! He loves to climb and explore and have Mommy and Daddy catch him when he falls.

I just thought this face was funny! I don't really know why he's making it. :)

This was Ethan's first time in his "duck bath." He really liked it and we had a lot of fun playing with his new bath toys!

Well first off I'm proud to say that Ethan climbed into this basket all by himself! He's quickly becoming a very strong and independent little handful. And secondly, I'm proud to say that I got some laundry done - a rare occurence these days. :)

He's discovered the hallway and loves the night light.

Sometimes feedings can get a little messy! Haha!!

So this picture looks like Jace is holding him up this way but he's not. Changing Ethan's diaper these days is a nightmare, he'll twist and turn and arch his back, and cry and whine until it's over. It's not very fun. But luckily it's just a stage.

Back up your files

My computer crashed and I lost ALL my pictures of Ethan. I can't believe it. Honeymoon pictures and many others are gone forever as well. I'm so sad I can't even begin to explain...
I hope everyone learns from my experience and has back-up for special things you don't want lost. Funny, a post or two ago I appologized for putting so many pictures up. Now I'm kicking myself for not adding those "extra couple" of pictures I always wanted to add onto every new post.
Sad, huh.

I can never think of clever titles anymore, so I'm not even going to try

So, I just wanted to start this post off by saying sorry. Sorry for always posting a million pictures. I can never decide which ones to post, so I usually end up posting a ton. But really, I like putting a lot of pictures on my blog because one of these days, I'm going to print it out to have as a scrapbook. So the more pictures the better, right? Right. Well, here's what Ethan has been up to the past few weeks...

We've been trying out different kinds of food with Ethan to see what he likes...it's very fun. :)

He's thinkin' he likes sweet potatoes. They're definitely his favorite!

Ethan is a very happy baby, except for when he's grumpy. :)

He is SO close to crawling. But for now he is still just scooting all over the place. He is OBSESSED with cords, he's always after them. This picture makes me laugh becuase he found a tiny little space behind our tv (yes, our tv is on the ground...long story) and crawled behind it to play with the cords.

Just wanted to show off his cute little teeth! This is the best picture we could get of them. I was so sad when he started teething because I love the gum look! Baby gums are just so adorable. I didn't want his teeth to come in at all. But now that they're here, I can't get enough of them. I love them so much!

Sometimes when we start to take pictures of him, he'll attack the camera. It results in some pretty cute close-ups!

Ethan has recently discovered the kitchen floor. He loves it. Apparently it's way more fun than the carpet. Don't worry, it's clean.

Saying his baby prayers. :)

He loves to play with mirrors!

We love Ethan in blue.

First Walk, Alpaca, and Then Some

I came home from school today and it was sunny outside with a little breeze, so I thought it would be fun to take Ethan on a walk. The weather here has been pretty chilly, and SO windy. Like knock you over windy. So we still hadn't taken Ethan on a walk. About 2 minutes into our walk, the sun decided to hide behind the clouds, and the wind started to get stronger. Ethan wasn't too fond of that. But he was a little trooper and we managed to get a few fun pics.

Like the shades?! A bit big - but so cute!

Sorry about the runny nose! Poor guy has a cold.

Uncle Adam gave Ethan this sweater for Christmas. This is the first time he's had a chance to wear it. It was so cute! He got it in South America and it's made out of Alpaca wool. (notice the little alpaca on the front) It's so soft and that was so sweet of him to get it for us!

Gotta love the mohawk!

Just for funzies!

We just LOVE our Ethan!

Yum Yum

First attempt at solid food. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

HAHA!! Good times!! :)

Boy or Girl?

So, Jace and I just went to the grocery store.
Ethan got called a girl.
He was even wearing blue.
I don't get it.
I'm mad.

Please, even if you have to lie, just tell me my baby looks like a boy. Please!! (Doesn't he!?)

Well on a happier note...It is GORGEOUS outside today! I'd even say it's a little on the hot side...but the Arizona girl in me is just lovin' every second of it! We took Ethan outside for the FIRST time without a stupid blanket over the top of his car seat! It was fabulous. It was a little breezy and he wasn't too fond of that...but he'll get used to it. :) I didn't get any pictures, but it wasn't our official "walk" because we just ran to the store and back. By the time we got home, it was nap time for Ethan. Hopefully when he wakes up it will still be warm enough to go on a walk! I'm so excited! I've been waiting for this moment for 5 months!

Speaking of 5 months...Ethan is now that old! I can't believe it! This past month just flew by! And I'll probably be saying that for the rest of my life. :) Here's a few things my darling baby has been up to:
  • Scooting - ALL over the place. If he's on one side of the blanket, and there's a toy he wants on the other side, he will go get it. No hesitation.
  • Sitting up - He is starting to sit up and I think it's just the cutest thing ever! I didn't expect him to start so early but it's so much fun practicing with him. He can stay up by himself for about 20 seconds (gotta start somewhere!) before his little body realizes it can't support his big head, and then he'll topple over. (I catch him of course)
  • Sleeping with Mommy and Daddy - Ugh...not as excited to talk about this one. Ethan is not a good sleeper unless he's being held, so during the day it's hard to get anything done because I'm holding him when he's awake, and when he's sleeping! And lately, he WILL NOT sleep in his crib. He has to be in bed with us. It doesn't make for a good nights sleep for me. I'm trying to be patient in hopes that he'll grow out that soon...but I'm not very good at it.
  • Reading books - I know I've mentioned this before but he loves it even more now. If there's a book on the floor, he'll scoot to it, and make unhappy noises until I pick him up and read to him. It's cute. :)
  • Sleeping with Mommy and Daddy - Ugh!
  • Babbling - Ethan is always making noises. We can't get enough of him when he's in his talkative moods. It's adorable.
  • Sleeping with Mommy and Daddy - Ugh!
  • Eating his body parts - fingers, fists, the whole nine yards. He'd suck on his hands all day if he could. Recently Grandma Allred taught him where his feet were, and he currently enjoys sucking on those too. Thanks Grandma. :)
  • Did I mention sleeping with Mommy and Daddy?! - Ugh!

Well that's about it! Sorry this post was so lengthy. Here's some pictures of our favorite five month old!

These next few are really similar. I just couldn't decide which ones to post!

I better explain this one - Uncle Jantz (Jace's brother) made this for Ethan because his first 2 initials are E.T. (Ethan Tyler). He gave it to him when he was born with a note saying "Welcome to Planet Earth" It was really funny. We just wanted to make sure we had a picture!

If Only You Knew...

I think I have the most ACTIVE child (under the age of 1) in the history of the world. Would anyone like to challenge me???

Cookies

Ethan helped Jace and I make some cookies today! He had a lot of fun grabbing every ingredient out of our hands and then trying to shove them in his mouth. (That's ALL he does these days is get his hands into everything!) It was so fun because Ethan is very observant. He is so content just looking around, seeing new things, and doing whatever it is the grown ups are doing!
He took one look at these chocolate chips and started to drool! Like father, like son.

Mixin' with Daddy!

Scoopin' with Mommy!

E to the T to the H-A-N

Ethan is learning new things every day and becoming more and more fun! His little personality is really starting to come out and he is just a blast to play with!
Ethan loves wearing Daddy's hat.

Those eyes...I LOVE THOSE EYES!

"Look at me and my bad self!"
Jace was trying to teach Ethan how to be "cool"
I think he caught on pretty well, what do you think?

Ethan with your nose so bright...why the heck won't you fall asleep at night!

Just being cute!

I don't know where he got this from...I swear...

Wait...I came out of where?!

Oh dang...she caught me.
Ethan pooped all over his clothes, so I cleaned him up, wrapped his cute little naked body in a blanket, and put him on the floor, on his back, while I went and got the tub ready. When I came back in the room to get him, he had rolled onto his tummy and his cute little cheeks were right there staring at me!
It was really funny.

HAPPY 4 MONTHS ETHAN!!!

I can't believe it's been 4 months since my beautiful baby has been born! Sometimes I feel like he was born yesterday and sometimes I feel like he's been in our family forever. Funny how that works. Currently Ethan loves: smiling, giggling, getting read to, making funny faces, his tigger toy and his farm animal toy, rolling over (he's mastered rolling over from his back to his tummy!!), playing with Daddy, fake coughing to get attention, taking baths, talking with anyone that will give him attention, sucking his thumb, and making his parents happy and grateful for every day they get to be with him.
It's starting to warm up here...kind of. We're hoping in about another month we can actually take him outside!!! I AM SO EXCITED!! All I want to do is take Ethan on a walk! I know he would LOVE it. He is such an observant little guy and would really enjoy seeing the outside of our apartment. Well, here's a few pictures taken over the past week to celebrate 4 months of fun!!

Oh...my...gosh...

Today my little darling slept an entire hour (two 30 min naps) over a 13 hour period. It just about drove me nuts. Ok, it did drive me nuts. I could not believe he was up for that long. He's having the hardest time taking naps, and even when I get him down for the night he's tossing and turning and moaning and groaning. Ugh...so hard to not have a break ALL day long. But that's ok. Tomorrow is another day. Besides, I still have the cutest baby in the whole world, so I guess my exhaustion is worth it. Good night.

The Many Faces of Ethan

Ok so I'll warn you...there's a lot of pictures here. Ethan has so many fun expressions I just couldn't help myself. Jace and I were trying to get some pictures of him smiling and we didn't have too much success. I looked over the pictures and realized we captured so many other expressions that Ethan makes all the time, so I wasn't disappointed at all. So...this is Ethan!!

Sunday, February 8, 2009

Ethan is all smiles, all the time...exept when you want to take a picture or show someone. It's so annoying, but we just laugh. :) He's just starting to giggle and it makes Jace and I crack up. It's just the cutest thing ever. We've gotten a few of the times on film so as soon as I figure out how to get the video onto the computer, I'll post it. Here's some recent pictures I thought I'd share.
Ethan is doing great on his tummy. He can lift his head as high as it will go. He's been doing this for about 2 weeks now, and he's not even 3 months old!! He is so strong!

How can you not love that face!!

Me and my boy

Proud Daddy on the day of Ethan's blessing. It was such a sweet day.

I'm not quite sure why but I just think Ethan is so adorable when he's sleeping! I Especially love when he falls asleep with his mouth open. It's so precious.

After I give Ethan a bath his hair gets all fuzzy (what little he has) and I just love it! I play with it ALL day! It's kind of hard to see in a picture. This is the best I could do.

Some More Fun Pics

Ethan is such a great baby. He's growing up sooooo fast! I just barely uploaded all the pics from my camera onto the computer. So some of these are recent and some are older. Enjoy!

Ethan under his Einstein toy. He LOVES this thing!

Isn't his church outfit so cute!!

Ethan and Grandma Allred. She's a fantastic grandma!

Jace and Jill Still Exist

I thought I'd fill everybody in on Jace and I... We're still going to school in Rexburg. Jace is taking 15 credits trying to get his History Ed degree as soon as he can. He'll also start teaching seminary in February. We're really excited about that. I'm just taking one class so I can stay home and take care of Ethan. Graduating is a goal of mine and we're gonna try our best to get me through school, but Ethan obviously comes first. Our plan for the summer is to flip flop a bit. I'll take a full load of classes, and Jace will take one or two classes so someone can stay home with the baby. Hopefully that'll work out! We had about 3 weeks off for Christmas break so we were able to spend about a week with both of our families. It was so much fun! We loved showing Ethan off. :) It is way too cold and way too snowy for me here. I'm an Arizona girl through and through. I can't wait until it starts to melt and get warm....like in 5 months. I want to take Ethan on walks and show him what the outside world looks like! But it is waaaay too cold for that now. I also have been trying to come up with hobbies for myself so I won't get so bored being a "stay at home mom" anyone have any ideas?
(Jace and I at his Grandparents house for Christmas)

Stupid Mom Moment #247

Ok, so I won't admit ALL of my mistakes of being a first time mom, but I thought this one was pretty funny. It was a Sunday afternoon and I went to change Ethan out of his church clothes into his pj's. Well, it didn't work out too well. I couldn't get the dang shirt over his head!! I was trying and trying, (obviously I didn't want to pull too hard) and it just wouldn't come off! My mom heard Jace and I laughing so she came in from the other room and said, "oh my gosh! Jill! There's buttons!!" Ohhhhhhhh! Buttons! Haha! There were 2 buttons on the neck of the shirt that made it slip right over my little guys head with perfect ease. See, my mom had gotten him dressed that morning and it was a brand new outfit, so I wasn't aware of the extremely helpful buttons. :) Now I know!! So this is a pic Ethans stupid mother (that would be me) took of him, with his shirt stuck on the top of his head. (If all else fails...take a picture!!)

My Cutie Pa Tootie

Well, it has almost been 2 months since Ethan came into our lives and it's been so much fun! He's doing great. We love him so much. He is a great eater and a great sleeper. I really have no complaints. He's been smiling the past week or so and is starting to make little "coo" noises. It is so stinkin cute! Jace and I just love it when he smiles. Ethan can always find a way to make me smile...even if it's at 2 in the morning. I love him for that. He is such a precious little boy and I'm so glad he's mine!! As for me, I'm STILL recovering. My stitches aren't completely healed and I'm still a little sore. Stupid. Tearing and the use of forceps sure does wonders to your body, let me tell you. Ethan is worth all the pain, and even more , so I try to stay positive. Well, I hope you enjoy these few pics I took with my cell phone! Isn't he the cutest?!!

4 Days Overdue

I'm still carrying my child in my belly instead of my arms just in case anybody's wondering. Being 4 days overdue is kind of a crummy feeling. After I passed my due date I convinced myself this is all a big joke and I'm not really having a baby. I just need to learn to be patient though. I'm scheduled for an induction on Monday morning. So unless this little guy decides to come before then, that'll be the exciting day!

Prego Update

Well, as of today I'm 2 cm. dilated! Yay!

38 Weeks!

Well, there's not really anything new goin on. Jace and I are now just getting everything out of the babies room. When we moved in we just shoved all our stuff in there so our apartment wouldn't look so cluttered. We're just now cleaning it out. I know, I know, we're total slackers. Hopefully we can get the crib set up this week. I ordered some crib bedding online and it got delivered to the wrong place because I never got it. So the company resent another set and we're still waiting for it to get here. I go to the doctor every tuesday for my check up. Last tuesday was very uneventful. We just listened to the babies heart beat and that was it! Everything sounded good though. Next tuesday the doctor is going to check to see if I've dilated any more. I'm kind of excited!

36 week belly

Here's my tummy!!

Ok, well here's a pic of my belly at about 36 weeks. I know my shirt's a bit tight, don't judge to harshly, it's my undershirt. And you can totally see my garments halfway up my stomach, so sorry. Oh the joys of pregnancy.

Who Wants an Update?

Well, I am not the most cheerful pregnant woman, I have to admit. If you're considering having a baby, don't come to me. Pregnancy has been SO hard! I'm so excited for it to be over. I have about a month left and can't wait. I don't know if it's normal, but I have severe pelvic and groin pain. So much so that I can barely walk, or even move when I'm laying down. The doctor told me today that I'm dilated to 1 cm! Woo hoo! Only 9 more to go! :) I think about going into labor all day long! I'm so nervous! I also think about holding my baby. I am so stinkin excited it's ridiculous. I am so ready for him to be here. I caught some virus. I swear it's the flu. I can't swallow, my head is pounding, my ears feel like they're gonna explode, and I'm achey all over. It makes sleeping a lot harder than it already is. I really hope I can get over it by the time I have the baby. I love feeling my baby move, even when he kicks so hard it kinda hurts. It still makes me happy. I heard the hospital food is amazing, so I'm kinda excited about that. Basically it's just a waiting game from here on out! So there ya go- an update full of random thoughts. P.S. Picture coming soon. Brace yourselves.

California Trip

Jace and I recently got back from an 8 day trip to California. We went to Disneyland and a lot of cool places around San Fransisco with his family. It was a ton of fun and very tiring. Here's a few pics from our trip.

This is a picture of us in Alcatraz. It was so cool to see the actual jail and hear some stories about the crazy things that happened there.

puke...puke...and more puke

Well, here's an update on my health since a few of you have been asking...basically there is no update. I'm still sick. It is not fun at all. A few weeks ago I threw up so hard I popped a bunch of blood vessels in my face. It hurt so bad I thought I broke my cheek bones. I took a picture of it but it's a little hard to see because they're so little, but I can post it soon. I try to have a good attitude about everything because I know there's women out there who have it worse than I do, but it's really difficult to do that when you feel so lousy. I just keep telling myself it will be worth it.

The Big Announcement

Well...so much for our pink and brown girl bedding because we're having a boy!!! We're very excited. Not quite sure what to name him yet but we're working on that. I'm 19 weeks along and still sick. The doctor said that the majority of people usually aren't sick this far along, so I guess that puts me in the minority category. Of course. :) It's fun to know that I'm basically halfway through. We just can't wait till our baby boy gets here!!!!

OH BABY!!!!

Well, Jace and I had our first (and much needed) Dr's appointment yesterday. I know every one's first ultrasound looks identical to this, but it's still so much fun to look at! :) It's crazy to think that there's a little human growing inside me. The baby was bouncing around and waving it's arms. It made us really happy. The doctor said everything looked great, which is always a relief to hear. He also told us that I was a week and a half farther along than we thought! That was good news. So that puts me at about 14 weeks. We're due November 3rd and counting down the days! I left the office all smiles, this pregnancy has been pretty tough for me and it really helped to actually see our baby. We get to find out the sex of the baby on June 2nd. I have no idea how I'm supposed to wait that long for such exciting news, but I'll try to find a way.

Peter Pan's Insight

Jace and I recently watched Peter Pan...I'm kind of on this Disney movie kick. There's a song that plays when the kids learn how to fly, and a line really stuck out to me. The song states, "think of all the joy you'll find, when you leave the world behind..." I know this is just a silly little kids song but it really hit me how true that statement is. When we sacrifice the things of the world, for the things of God, we'll be happier than we can ever imagine. Well, I just felt like sharing that with everyone. I know it's kind of random!

job hunting

When I come down to Arizona I'd like to find a job. For part of the day at least. If anyone knows a good place to work where I can preferably sit down...let me know!

Arizona, Here We Come!!

I love this picture for many reasons. One, because it's me and my sisters, two, because it's one of my favorite memories with them, and three, because it reminds me of Arizona!! Jace and I are going to spend the summer in Arizona living with my parents. We're really excited to be in my hometown and to be around family and friends. Jace will be selling alarm systems like he does every summer, and I will....well I don't know yet.
I chose this particular picture to announce the Arizona news becuase every time I get together with my sisters, we go to Pizza Mart (which is where we are in this pic). We love that place! They have awesome pizza, yummy ice, and cheap yet still delicious, ice cream cones. I fly to Arizona on the 15th of April and we're planning on going right when I get there. So pray I'm done throwing up by then!

I LOVE my family....isn't this picture great?!

playing catch - up

I know we've been married for 9 months and probably no one cares to see our honeymoon pictures, but it's just part of the catching up process! Jace and I went to Disneyland for part of our honeymoon. (He's kind of obsessed with that place) We had a BLAST! We stayed in the honeymoon suite at the Disneyland Hotel and it was perfect. The hotel gave us these hats to wear around the park and we switched them up. People thought we were hilarious, it was so funny. The lady at the front desk took a picture of us and put it on the "Wall of Fame" with a bunch of other random pictures. So now the legacy of our weirdness will live on forever!

Here's some of our favorite wedding pics!

We got married in San Diego and took pictures at the beach. It was sooooo awesome!

Ok ok, I'll add a new post. (Ashley) I'm just sooo busy with school I never get around to it. And now I'm sick because I'm pregnant! Yep, it's true, (it's not an April fool's joke.) :) As happy as I am to be 8 weeks pregnant I am absolutely miserable. I've thrown up every day for the past 4 weeks! UGH! Yesterday I broke a record with an amazing 4 times! Ya, I know, I'm pretty cool that way. Throwing up does make for stronger abs though...my stomach muscles are burning and aching all day long because of the stress they've been under. Or maybe I'm just out of shape! Who knows! I wake up about 4 times a night because my bladder is being pushed on. I seriously just want to wear a grandma diaper and just sleep through the whole night. (Jace didn't like that idea). I go through a box of saltines a week. Some days I have to force myself just to eat them to get something in my stomach. But hey, it's all worth it, right? I haven't gone to school in four weeks either. I think I'm going to have to take all my classes over again, which really stinks. Jace and I were feeling really strongly for a while that we should start our family but decided to wait until summer. We didn't really even try and we ended up getting pregnant! I guess Heavenly Father really wants us to have this baby. It really is a huge blessing though. I have so many health problems, (some related to not being able to get pregnant) so my whole life I've been worried I'd never be able to have a family. Over the course of our marriage Jace and I both have prepared ourselves for that option and new it would be ok if it were to happen. So we really are thrilled for this exciting opportunity. It took Jace 3 pregnancy tests to finally believe it! Well, only 8 weeks into it and I already want it to be over so I can see our baby.

So... Jace and I decided to be cool and join the blog club! (woo hoo!!) So now maybe we can keep in touch with our friends better than we do. Jace and I got married June 19th and have been finishing up school in Rexburg ever since. BYUI treats us well, we love it here. We both plan to finish school. I'm majoring in Health Science and Jace is majoring in History Education. We problably graduate um.... in a million years. :) We have a month off for Christmas break and we get to see family on both sides which we're eccstatic about. Wish we had more to tell ya, but you may have to stay tuned to get the copmlete inside scoop on the Johnson family!!
